Here is a link to Saint Chapelle that Jill talks about (click here) in her email. Not only does it has beautiful stained glass, it looks like that might be the setting of a picture in one of my favorite books, The Mysteries of Harris Burdick!
I must be getting used to being in France because sometimes I forget that I'm all the way across the ocean! We're so busy that sometimes I forget that there's other places where you don't buy baguettes every day or have 800 year old chapels to walk past on the way to lunch. I love France 😊Today for P day we went to Saint Chapelle, the largest collection of stained glass windows! It depicts the whole bible!! And apparently is had a picture of the baptistry just like we have in the temple! But we couldn't find it.
After,we ran into some very kind members who took us to lunch! We found out that he's the nephew of President Dallin H Oaks so that's kind of cool! I had a croque Madame and it was AMAZING. This week another companionship at the temple had head cheese at a dinner appointment so.. I was really grateful for that family. On Friday we had exchanges and it was awesome! We're still in a plain heat wave but we went around on public transport nonetheless and got totally lost in a sector that I didn't know... But! We found an investigator of the elders who had recently lost their number! So now she can be in contact with them again and she's like already excited to get baptized! That was such a miracle! I think it shows that in missionary work and in life, we might be messing up or thinking that we're not doing well enough but our Heavenly father has things all planned out!!On Friday, we had a fireside with Elder Kim B Clark of the 70 and he told a story about just that! He told a story of a missionary who baptized his friend, but eventually went home early and got into lots of trouble. So much trouble that he was eventually (20 years later) excommunicated from the church! But all throughout this time, his friend had stayed in touch. Eventually, his friend was the one to re-baptize the missionary! There's more to the story but I just thought it was so cool! Heavenly Father has such big plans that we might now even know about. Trust him!I hope everyone is having a great week! I'm looking forward to hearing from you!(My birthday is next week and all I want is emails lol)Soeur Ackroyd
