I've been reading Mem Fox's book,
Reading Magic, about reading aloud to kids and am re-committing to reading tons of stories to Peirce. Tonight we found a gem:
Beware of the Frog! This is a lovely looking fairy tale...with a hilarious twist at the end. Well truthfully there are surprises all along the way. It's a good mix of repetetive predictable writing that kids love - and surprises that kids love too. There are a number of other bloggers that have reviewed this book too:
here,
here and
here (although I think the writers of that last one need to just lighten up and enjoy the book a little more). The author seems like a little bit of a character from the info on
his website!
